The Cooperative Research Centre for Oral Health Science (CRC-OHS) brings together industry and research institutions to work collaboratively on projects that are:
● Developing new technologies and products that can prevent and reverse tooth decay.
● Developing new diagnostics and treatments for periodontal (gum) disease.
● Developing advanced dental materials for more durable and comfortable clinical performance.
● Identifying where oral disease exists in the community and how it can be prevented.
● Conducting large-scale clinical trials of world-first oral health products.
Researchers at the centre carry out their work across two world-class research facilities at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and the Bio21 Molecular Science and Technology Institute in Parkville, Melbourne.
The CRC-OHS was established in July 2003 under the Commonwealth Cooperative Research Centres Programme.
